Trek to Salcantay Pass

Today is longest day on the trail - 4 hours from the Lodge at 12,800 feet to the Pass between Salcantay Peak and Humantay Peak at 15,250 feet. Not too many pictures since we were in heads-down hiking mode.

Then 3 hours down to the Wayrajmachay Lodge.

One of the pictures is Salcantay as we leave at 7:45 AM.

One of the pictures is my Apacheta - an offering to the Gods.

The third is a "keeper" since it may be unlikely that I will be at this elevation again.

The entire group made it to the top with no symptoms of altitude sickness.

After dinner we did some star-gazing. Saw the Southern Cross!!
